The announcement that Obama has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize came as a surprise to everyone. Even the Democrat Media Wing (also known as the main stream media) describes it as a "shock". Frankly, it summarizes the whole Obama story ... a life that has been filled with great rewards, but little achievement. He has constantly been rewarded for what he represents, and not what he has done. What has he actually done to further world peace? Umm ... that would be nothing. In fact, he has caused a great deal of fear and instability in many parts of the world, from Eastern Europe, to Honduras, to ... well, anyone who is a US friend. It's also interesting to note the list of other US presidents given the prize:

Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson and Jimmy Carter ... and now Barack Obama

Ah yes ... well, Roosevelt presumably got it for selling out Eastern Europe to the Soviets; Wilson got it for being instrumental in the Treaty of Versailles negotiations and for helping to set up the League of Nations (and we all know how that worked out); Carter got it for undermining US leadership in the world and acting like an idiot while the Iranian hostage crisis went on (and on). Don't forget Global Warming charlatan Al Gore, who has managed to turn his little hobby-horse into a LOT of money. Yes, actually I think they got it right ... Obama really does deserve the prize!

[Update] I like this comment (via Instapundit):

The Nobel Committee has officially gone off the rails in its quest for new adventures in smug Leftie nonsense. Even The One's most delusional acolytes are going to have a hard time defending this with a straight face.
[Further Update] I didn't know this:
Obama took office less than two weeks before the February 1 nomination deadline.
So basically it's even more ridiculous than it first appeared.

[Further Further Update] Here's some international reaction to the decision:

"Obama does not deserve this prize... So far, nothing changed. He was giving statements, promises and hopes, while on the ground nothing practical has been done."
Who said it? Oh, that would be Hamas. Obama's Middle East policy is really winning friends and influencing people ... welcome back Carter!
