Inside the Asylum

Obama really doesn't appear to know the difference between a democratically elected American president bound by constitutional boundaries acting as one third equal third of the United States government. He thinks he is a man who is allowed to issue decrees, and to "not tolerate" dissent. Long live the king ... Obama the Unready.

President Barack Obama took his push for healthcare overhaul to the U.S. heartland on Thursday, calling the current system unsustainable and vowing not to tolerate "endless delay" before acting to fix it.

Just like a monarch, he also thinks he can lie with impunity

"That's why I have already promised that reform will not add to our deficit over the next 10 years," he said.

Does anyone really believe that? I mean seriously? And is the emperor wearing any clothes?

Amongst his other howlers, there was this worthless gem

Obama said, "The reason is not because we want a government takeover of health care ... But we want some competition. If the private insurance companies have to compete with a public option, it will keep them honest and help keep prices down."

Excuse me?!?!? I'm about to commit lese majeste, but is Obama effing stupid, or does he just think we're stupid? Oh, yeah, sorry, my mistake. Both. Well, it's great that we now have a clear definition for Obama's concept of "competition" ... it's when the private sector has to compete with the government. Has this guy even done freshman economics? Come on, you don't even need that to know that this idea is just effing out of its tree stupidly crazy. I'm sorry, I'm so shocked by this that my mind has gone into four letter word lock down ... what the f? what the effing f? Oh h j f f c.
[Update] I forgot the mention that Obama really should pay attention to what his allies are doing ... sorry, correction, a country that was America's ally before Obama came to power. I guess now all bets are off. Anyway, the Australian government is looking to get the government OUT of health insurance.

Those crafty wordsmiths at KCNA (North Korean News) do it again:

No matter how loudly the U.S. may talk about the nuclear disarmament under a veil, it can never conceal its disgusting nature as a nuclear hawk keen to brandish a nuclear stick.

I guess you could say that it's a hawk with nuclear weapons ... but then what's the branch in its other claw? And where's the veil?

Politics, Muslim World 5:01 pm

I told you that the Muslim "man on the street" is smarter than 52% of American voters. Here's a bunch of statements that I only wish those 52% had thought about.

"He touched our emotions..." said Ehab Qishawi, a diplomat in the foreign ministry in Gaza. "His words were good, but up to now we haven't seen any policies on the ground.

"It is easy to say the words, many presidents have given good speeches, but the most important thing is the actions," said Eyad Galaja, who works in the health ministry

Asad Abu Shark, a professor of linguistics at al-Azhar University, said he was wary of hearing "sugar-coated language".

Nisar Ahmed Faizee, in Pakistan: "Osama, Obama – what's the difference?" he said, reaching for his cigarettes. "It's all a big drama."

Anwar Khan, also in Pakistan: "For us, Bush and Obama are the same. They are droning us to death."
