She went through the whole list of dreadful things that are happening to the planet, including Japanese whaling. When she mentioned that their Greenpeace ships are pursuing the Japanese whalers, I only just restrained myself from saying, "Hasn't Japan got a navy? And gunboats?" We parted on terms that were not too hostile, though she did conclude, "You're not really interested in Greenpeace, are you?" I was stopped on the street the other day by a Greenpeace activist.
