Oh, so Hamas can be at fault in starting violent conflict!

An investigation by the al-Haq human rights organisation published on Thursday said Hamas militants opened fire first on both occasions.

Of course, this can only happen when it's Palestinian-on-Palestinian violence. For "human rights organizations," when Jews are involved, it's automatically Israel's fault.

Politics 5:10 am

I rather liked this:

Ahhh the level of discourse from the left and the congenitally stupid or drunk is simply astounding.

The story behind it is rather amusing, involving a personal attack on a right wing blogger. Basically, the morons faxed him a picture of himself with lots of nasty comments on it "fat bastard chin" etc., and forgot that the fax would supply details about the machine from which it was sent.

Weird 4:22 am

I don't really know what to add to this:

Nothing says, "We‘re not in Kansas anymore," quite like a visit to that Brazilian institution, the sex motel.

Dorothy? Toto? Anyone?

North Koreans learn a strange kind of truth about USA.

Kim, a Korean-American, said defectors often visit China and return to North Korea after learning about the world through TV. Many then pass on their experiences to close neighbors, causing Western culture to infiltrate their communities. Kim said a North Korean woman in Pyongyang recently asked an acquaintance of his for a DVD set of the hit U.S. TV show "Desperate Housewives," indicating how "information is getting in" to North Korea. "We know that people are learning the truth about the world, and we are optimistic," he said.

When will Kim Jong Il denounce the Korean invasion plans currently being plotted on Wisteria Lane? No doubt we will shortly be seeing a bulletin calling on all Koreans to foil the housewives' war moves by their concerted efforts.

I read this today and was sicked by the sycophancy (not to mention the sibilance.)

If the President's eloquent speech in Cairo had been delivered by George Bush, it would have sounded phoney, writes Jonathan Freedland. In an ancient city, America's still-new President aimed to heal a rift that has endured for decades, if not centuries. Barack Obama stood before a crowd of 3000 in the great hall of Cairo University to deliver a speech that demonstrated not only his trademark eloquence but also the sheer ambition of his purpose - nothing less than bridging the divide between Islam and the West.

Luckily it was delivered by The One ... no, I mean THE ONE!!! How about we try that one again?

If the President's speech-writers' eloquent speech in Cairo had been delivered by George Bush, it would have been just as phoney, but journalists wouldn't have bought into it, writes [Filthy Stinking #9]... America's amateurish and unready President showed unspeakable arrogance in believing that he can heal a rift that has endured for decades, if not centuries. Barack Obama stood before a crowd... to deliver a speech that demonstrated not only his trademark use of a teleprompter but also the sheer impossible pomposity of his purpose - nothing less than bridging the divide between Islam and the West.

Hey, I just came up with a new name for THE ONE ... Obama the Unready. I think I like it. :-)
